Escalating Power Prices

Escalating power prices and frequent shortages seem to be inevitable. If the government takes prompt and effective action, the magnitude can be mitigated. If the government continues its blind pursuit of “carbon zero” increasing economic damage will force it to abandon the policy.

3Waters - too good to be true

The most likely long-term outcome of the 3Waters reform is that the assumed cost and capital efficiencies will not materialise, due to a cumbersome governance structure subservient to cultural interests. The water reform is a high-risk proposition, with much higher risks that that faced by the 67 local authorities individually.

After Boris - the essential reset

If the Tories are to pull themselves out of the electoral mire, it is imperative that they now elect a leader who will dump Net Zero; take the firmest possible line against all those seeking to spread poisonous and intolerant division and intimidation; and use Britain’s independence from the EU to become again a nimble, innovative and creative trading nation.

Three Waters – Many Lies

What we have seen is false advertising and orchestrated ‘news’ items on mainstream media to promote a perception that there is a need for reform. Public Misunderstanding of COVID-19 Vaccine Trials

There is a widespread public misunderstanding about the testing the vaccines underwent in the pivotal trials underpinning their approval, with over 95 percent of New Zealand’s voting-age public believing that the vaccines were tested against more demanding criteria than was actually the case.

Fairy tales for the gullible

It is beyond question that nothing in the case suggests that the Treaty in any way creates a partnership between Maoris and The Crown or brings into question the legitimacy of our democracy. To argue the contrary on the basis of this court case is either ignorant or wilfully dishonest.

“Prudent” but was it political enough?

The Labour Party will not thank Robertson if they are still too close to National in the polls next Budget and he has no money to spend. Prudence can have a price in politics

The Quota’s Crusade

One crusade pursued by the Ministry for Women, using tax-payer resources, was to get more women on corporate boards.  This is part of a global movement that has seen the introduction of quotas introduced in some nations.
